Meet Steph!

Peer Support (Jan - Apr 2025)

Steph is a Master of Social Work student at the University of British Columbia and currently lives on the unceded, traditional territory of the Syilx Okanagan peoples. She is originally from Tkaronto (Toronto) and completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at McGill University in Tiohtià:ke (Montréal). She identifies as bisexual and is proudly a part of the queer community.

During her undergraduate degree, Steph developed a strong interest in human sexuality. Her first-year practicum was with her university’s Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office (SVPRO), where she shadowed support sessions and co-created a sexual health education curriculum, focusing on Anatomy, Pleasure and Porn Literacy.

Currently, she works at SVPRO as a sexual health education coordinator. After receiving her master's degree, Steph hopes to engage in community work with individuals whose sexualities and sexual needs are systemically oppressed, ignored or internalized.

In her scheduled ‘chill’ time, Steph can be found with matcha in hand, listening to a good book, and going on a mental health walk (sometimes all at once). Also knitting!
